  • Bad batteries



    I purchased 96 #10 RayOVac batteries over a year ago for my Resound hearing instruments, but as I always have an ample supply on hand I just started using them. At present only one or two batteries out of eight have a charge. When I notified Hearing Planet they admitted that there was a problem with the batteries and kindly replaced 48 of the 96 batteries even though a year had elapsed. I don't know if I should be happy or disturbed that I have to go through 6 or 7 batteries to get 1 that works or just throw away the batteries and eat the cost of them.     I talked with a Hearing Planet rep from Tennessee today, and was very impressed with the way he conducted his business. He set up an appointment for me in Flowood, MS, and I personally talked to the hearing professional. I would be very surprised if this hearing aid purchase doesn't go well. I am a little apprehensive about getting follow up help if needed, but the hearing aids do have a 45 day return clause in the warranty. More...

    They were very nice at first. They make the appts. with providers so made an appt. for me - with a provider who did not know the products. After that experience, I requested they make more than one other appt. so I could have a choice was told no, they'd make only one other appt - I got upset, then was told that they would not help me and I should go elsewhere - insulting and disrespectful. Also was told verbally (do not recall a phone disclaimer) that they recorded my conversation). Since found out that ahearingaid.com existed before Planet Hearing and they are much better. More...

    I can't say enough about these folks. I knew I wanted a hearing aid with blue tooth capability -- they have several. When the first brand I chose didn't interface well with my phone they replaced them with another brand - no problem. They have a lot of info on line for comparison of models, etc. and the price is right. They set you up with a local vendor who performs the hearing tests and fits your hearing aid. Finally, my sales rep, Alex, was just excellent. I ended up spending around $6000 because of the high end aids I needed for my hearing loss and the blue tooth... More...

I purchased a Unitron with all the bells and whistles over 2 years ago and was satisfied until last October when I ad one unit fail and took it to Palmetto and they fixed it on the spot for $75 telling me that it was the RIC which failed. a week went by and both units failed and I didn't want to drive the 60+ round trip again to get the units fixed and probably have to pay $150 this time as I believe they only know how to replace the RIC as all else is beyong their ability. Notwithstanding, I haven't used them since. W. H. Wease, Mt. Pleasant, SC

Looking at Starkey "invisile-in-the Canal" (IIC)
Soundlens features...........

Would you have any advice for me regarding this instrument....I am presently wearing two "within the canal"
Seimens aids......about 7-8 years old.............they cease to have power......am having difficulty with "clarity".

I bought $3,600. hearing aids for my 94 year old father last February. Unfortunately he passed away in May. I called Hearing Planet in June to see if any kind of reimbursement could be arranged even though it was past their no questions asked reimbursement period. They agreed to pay me back $3,000. no questions asked. I think it was very fair of them and I appreciate their gesture. I would do business with them again.

Went to Hearing Planet site but they only list the name of the hearing aids I am interested in and NO PRICE??? Why list the name at all?

Tried several different online companies in a search for hearing aid and found this company to be very good with excellent service and follow-up.

Don't know much about the company, but I found a good comparison chart with prices and models on their website. Had to give an email address to get there. Rep followed up w/ a phone call but was not pushy.

Such a disappointment to find that all your links promising prices takes one back to downloading your guide which does not have prices in it. Bait and switch?
